Who we are

Calculate Your Grade (calculateyourgrade.com) offers free, browser-based grade and GPA calculators for students, parents, and teachers. In this policy, the words ‘we’, ‘us’, and ‘our’ refer to Calculate Your Grade. This page explains what information the site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

How our calculators handle your data

This is the most important thing to know: our calculators are built to keep your information with you. Every tool on the site runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. When you type in grades, weights, or scores, those numbers are processed right on your device to show your result. They are not transmitted to our servers, we do not store them, and we cannot see them. Refresh or close the tab and they are gone, unless you turn on the optional Remember my entries setting on a calculator. If you do, your entries are saved in your browser’s local storage, on your own device, so they are waiting when you return. They are still never sent to us, and pressing Reset or clearing your browser data removes them.

You do not need an account to use any calculator, and we never ask you to register, log in, or hand over personal details to get a result.

Information we collect

Information you give us

You can use every calculator without telling us anything about yourself. The only time you actively share personal information is when you choose to email us. If you do, we receive your email address, any name you sign off with, and whatever you write in your message, so that we can reply.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, we and our service providers gather a small amount of technical information when you visit:

• Analytics data through Google Analytics 4 (connected with Google Site Kit): the pages you view, how long you stay, the link or search that brought you here, and general details about your device and browser. Google estimates an approximate, city-level location from your IP address, but your full IP address is not shown in our analytics reports.
• Server logs kept by our web host: standard records such as your IP address, browser type, the date and time of your request, and the page you asked for. These help keep the site secure and let us fix technical problems.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser. We keep our use of them light:

• Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, which help it tell new visitors from returning ones and measure how the site is used.
• Functional cookies that our hosting and caching layer may set so pages load faster for you.

We do not currently use cookies to build advertising profiles. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google’s official opt-out browser add-on.

Third-party services we rely on

To run the site we use a few trusted providers. Each has its own privacy policy that governs the data it handles:

• Google Analytics and Site Kit for website analytics. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces you see. Because the fonts load from Google’s servers, your IP address is shared with Google when a page loads. You can read the Google Fonts privacy details.
• Hostinger hosts the website and stores its files and server logs. See the Hostinger privacy policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Advertising

The site does not show ads right now. If we add advertising later, most likely through Google AdSense, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. If that happens, we will update this policy first, and you will be able to turn off personalized ads through Google’s Ad Settings or the industry tools at aboutads.info.

How we use the information

We use the limited information described above only to:

• understand which calculators and articles are useful so we can improve them;
• keep the site secure and diagnose technical issues;
• reply to you when you get in touch.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not try to identify individual visitors.

Your privacy rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK (GDPR)

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for a copy in a portable format. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Our basis for the limited processing above is our legitimate interest in running and improving a secure website, together with your consent where the law requires it, such as for non-essential cookies.

If you are in California (CCPA and CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to ask us to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To limit analytics, you can use the browser controls and opt-out add-on described above.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at getintouch@calculateyourgrade.com and we will respond within the time the law allows. We will never treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

Children’s privacy

Students of all ages use our calculators, including those in middle and high school, but the site is meant for a general audience and never requires anyone to create an account or share personal details. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). Because the calculators run in your browser and ask only for grades and scores, never names, emails, or contact information, students can use them without giving us any personal data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, for example by emailing us, please contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep data

We keep analytics data only as long as we need it to spot trends. Google Analytics retains visitor-level data for a limited window, currently up to 14 months, after which it is aggregated. Server logs are kept briefly for security and then rotated out. If you email us, we hold on to that message only as long as it takes to help you.

How we protect your data

The whole site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and we rely on established providers such as Google and Hostinger, each with its own security program. No method of sending or storing data over the internet is ever completely secure. The good news is that because the calculators do not collect or store what you type, there is very little personal data to protect in the first place.

International visitors

The site is available worldwide. Our providers, such as Google and Hostinger, may process the limited data described here on servers in the United States or other countries, where data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a ‘Do Not Track’ signal. Because the industry has never agreed on a single standard for honoring it, the site does not currently change its behavior based on that signal. You can still control tracking with the cookie and analytics opt-outs described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows or as the law changes. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the ‘Last updated’ date at the top of the page and note anything significant here. Our Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer are both now available.
